I’m so excited to welcome back Gretchen Voelcker and Tymari LaRoe for another virtual tasting event with us. I have featured these ladies in two winemaker tastings now because they are so much fun, and their wines are fantastic.

As head winemaker at Piazza Family Wines (another favorite of mine in SB County), Gretchen Voelcker started Luna Hart as a passion project that allows her to play with different winemaking styles, take risks, and craft the wines she loves.

At the heart of Luna Hart's philosophy is a commitment to vineyards practicing sustainable, organic, or biodynamic farming throughout the enchanting landscapes of Santa Barbara County. Gretchen's vision is to create wines that resonate with the very soul of the grapes—their origin, vintage, and variety—a true reflection of the terroir.

Gretchen's careful attention to the fruit in the vineyard and daily tastings during fermentation result in high-quality, fruit-forward wines. Luna Hart's creations are characterized by bright acidity and a delicate balance, held together by an incredible structure that speaks to the harmony between nature and craftsmanship.

These are minimal intervention, terroir-driven wines from Santa Barbara County. We’ll be tasting some new spring releases together:

1. 2024 Sauvignon Blanc Skin Fermented (150 cases)

2. 2024 Blanc de Cabernet Franc (40 cases)

3. 2024 Carbonic Syrah (64 cases)
