Your 7-Day Itinerary on the Amalfi Coast
Every day is carefully curated to give you the perfect balance of wine, food, culture, and relaxation
Arrival in Praiano
Welcome to the Amalfi Coast! Upon arrival at Naples Airport, our private transfer will bring us along the stunning coastal road to Praiano. Less touristy than Positano and more beautiful than anywhere else on the coast, Praiano is the insider's choice, and a private palace is our home for the week.
Once you've settled in and taken in that first jaw-dropping view of the Tyrrhenian Sea, we'll gather for a welcome dinner together. Over wine and a long table of food, we'll kick off the week the right way — with great people, great pours, and the best sunsets in Italy right outside our door.
Lemon Groves, Food Tour & Positano
We start the day with one of the most unique experiences on the coast. Our local guide takes us into a small village to visit his family's lemon grove, where we'll learn the fascinating history of the Amalfi sfusato lemon — how they're grafted, why they're unlike any other lemon in the world, and why they've been cultivated on these steep terraced hillsides for centuries. We'll sip fresh-squeezed lemonade straight from the grove.
We hop onto ape — the iconic three-wheeled vehicles of southern Italy — and ride to our guide's home for a tasting of the cheeses and olive oil he produces himself. Then it's a hands-on mozzarella-making demo, a visit to his cows, and a taste of honeycomb straight from his hives. Back onto the ape for the grand finale: making our own pizza on a beautiful terrace with a view. Lunch is whatever we just made, paired with local wine.
Once the crowds thin out, we head to Positano on our own — no tour guide, no schedule. Wander the narrow streets, browse the boutiques, find a spot on the beach, or sit for a gelato and watch the world go by. Dinner is on your own tonight — ask about our favorite spots in Praiano.
Ravello & the Vineyards of the Amalfi Coast
Today is the wine lover's dream day. We head up into the hills above the coast to visit two of the most extraordinary small producers in the Costa d'Amalfi DOC — two boutique wineries situated right next to each other, both making wines from old vines that survived the phylloxera epidemic that wiped out most of Europe's vineyards. One of these vines is 250 years old. The old-fashioned vine training here — vines grown like trees, supported by chestnut branches — is something you won't see anywhere else in the world.
Lunch is at the smaller of the two wineries — a family producing only about 2,000 cases per year. This is as authentic and intimate as winery visits get. Afterwards we make our way to the hilltop town of Ravello, one of the most beautiful towns on the coast, for an afternoon of exploring at your own pace. Dinner is on your own tonight back in Praiano — there are plenty of amazing restaurants within walking distance of our palace.
Amalfi Town & the Emerald Cave
A private guided tour of Amalfi town takes us through the medieval alleyways, the magnificent Cathedral of Sant'Andrea, and the hidden corners that most visitors walk right past. Our guide brings the history of this ancient maritime republic to life — at its peak, Amalfi was one of the most powerful trading cities in the Mediterranean world.
We jump on a boat to visit the Grotta dello Smeraldo — the Emerald Cave — where sunlight filters through the water and turns everything an otherworldly shade of emerald green. One of the most magical spots on the coast, and best experienced by boat.
Dinner is included tonight at the palace — a chance to relax, share stories from the day, and enjoy a beautiful meal together.
Capri
We catch the ferry from Sorrento to Capri — one of the most glamorous and beautiful islands in the Mediterranean. Our private guide meets us on arrival and takes us through the island's charming piazzas, the Gardens of Augustus, and the scenic viewpoints that make Capri so iconic. There's plenty of time to explore on your own, browse the boutiques, or find a café terrace with a view of the Faraglioni rocks.
We ferry back in the early evening, and dinner is included tonight at the palace. A well-earned feast after a full day on the island.
A Free Morning & Wine Pairing Dinner
The day is yours. Spend it on the beach in Praiano, explore the coastal path, read on the terrace, or wander into town for lunch on your own. This is your slow, do-nothing day — and on the Amalfi Coast, doing nothing looks extraordinary.
We finish the week the way it should be finished — together, around the table. A chef will lead us through a hands-on cooking lesson that turns into our farewell dinner, paired with a guided wine tasting and pairing lesson featuring some of the best wines of Campania and southern Italy, led by yours truly. We'll explore the grapes, the regions, and why this corner of Italy produces some of the most exciting and underrated wines in the country. A perfect final night.
Arrivederci!
After one last breakfast with a view, our private transfer will take you back to Naples Airport. We recommend flying home from Naples or extending your trip for a few extra days — ask me about adding a Naples food tour or a visit to Pompeii before you go. Until next time! 🍷
Palazzo Zingone, Praiano
A private palace on the Amalfi Coast — ours for the week
Palazzo Zingone is one of the oldest buildings in Praiano — an 18th-century historic residence lovingly restored and converted into private apartments. Situated in Vettica, a hamlet of Praiano facing Positano and overlooking Capri, the palace feels suspended between the sea and the mountains — exactly the kind of place you'd never find on your own.
Each guest or couple has their own private room and bathroom. Shared living spaces include a gorgeous terrace with sweeping views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. This is not a tourist trap hotel. Think historic home, slow living, sea views, and nature.
Praiano is the insider's choice on the Amalfi Coast — quieter and more authentic than Positano, but just minutes away from everything.
Hey there!
I'm Lexi.
Hey there!
I'm Lexi.
I spent a semester abroad in Tuscany in 2015 and it changed everything — that's where I fell in love with wine, with Italy, and with the idea that a meal around a table with good people is one of life's greatest pleasures.
Nearly a decade later, I lead small-group wine retreats back to the country that started it all. I've spent years building relationships with the family-owned wineries and local producers you'll never find in a guidebook — and I can't wait to introduce you to them.
The best part? Watching you fall in love with these places the same way I did. The long lunches, the winemakers who welcome you into their homes, the kind of Italian hospitality that stays with you long after you're home.
